This is a dish I created for my son after he turned one. He
likes it a lot. I didn't add any seasoning because the cheddar cheese is already
salted and I also try to avoid adding seasoning when cooking for young kid.
Ingredients:
1 egg,
beaten
1 slice
cheddar cheese
180ml water/
stock*
*Ratio
of eggs to water/stock is 1:3. The above measurement of water is for reference
only. You may reduce the water If you prefer the steamed egg to be firmer.
Method:
- Mix beaten egg and water/stock. Strain 2-3 times and pour into 2 ramekins equally. Cover ramekins with heat resistance clip wrap or aluminum foil.
- Bring a steamer to boil and then set the heat to low (I usually steam in my rice cooker). Steam on low heat for about 8 mins, add cheddar cheese on top and continue to steam for another 5 mins.
